With over 900 accredited private schools serving 290,000 students in every corner of the state, TPSA provides resources, advocacy, and representation to help schools pursue academic excellence, to assist them in growing to meet Texas’ needs, and to protect them from excessive regulation.
We Advocate for Independence
TPSA plays a critical role in the Texas educational landscape by representing private schools in both Austin and Washington, D.C., ensuring they remain independent. Recent advocacy efforts on legislative issues such as school safety, student privacy, curriculum standards, admissions policies, and private school rights have protected the state’s private schools from onerous regulations.
On its second vote, the Texas House of Representatives elected Republican Dustin Burrows for Texas to preside as Speaker for the 89th Texas legislative session, which opened today.
